That is one thing I enjoy about Babble; yout start a board and you grind, and grin, and eventually you hit the "Babble wall," so you take a breal and go do something else for a but. You come back, your instantly hammer off thirty words, and wonder to yourself where they were hiding last time. :)

yes. but I actually used to enjoy getting out and shovelling. As you say, wet snow is heavy, but we don't seem to get wet snow as much as medium to dry snow.

hello may I weigh in here on snow? Nashville....no snow plows exist......electricity at my townhouse area was off for a week.....fortunately, we knew it was coming and I packed up my dog and went to my sister's house ....... the ice broke electric wires and poles ....it was a mess..... her house was only without for about 30 hours.....they have gas fireplace and generators they got during tornado over a year ago...it was rough, mostly because drivers around here can't drive in these condition.... ice on top of snow was awful....schools out over a week....

Oh, Sophie, that is terrible. Winter weather is tolerable when you are ready for it. i.e. snow plows, snow blowers, generators. Sadly, I think with climate change that people in the south who never used to have to deal with snowy weather may now have to adjust to its possibility.

yeah, people like to make fun of southerners and winter weather driving, but we just don't have the infrastructure. luckily we only lost power for 24 hours during that ice storm, sophie, but I have been in 3 in my life that were a week of power outage. ice is just too heavy.

Last summer was the hottest summer I ever experienced and I am 76. Hot and dry, quite a severe drought really. Very unusual for us. That is why all this snow on the ground is good. When it melts it seeps down and replenishes the ground water.
