i think that ey7 means in range of viewability, not the way you guys were interpreting it. however, as someone who has had to get them in your sense of the word due to a misbehaving retina, i can tell you that they numb your eye with drops and stuff first so it doesn't hurt, although the antiseptic can be quite irritating for the rest of the day if not well rinsed out.
