I did Latin for five years at school, and regard it as being extremely useful for language skills. Regrettably, grammar is no longer taught properly in this country, and I really think that a good dose of Latin would work wonders!

Without meaning to be rude or anything, I would like to know why there is so much discussion of j-rock at all in a chat log devoted to Babble? I know there is bound to be a bit of 'side chatter' but sometimes a whole 50 post section is devoted to comepletely non-Babble topics. For those of us who have very limited Babble time, it means sifting through long bits in a search for Babble bits. If you know what I mean. That was one reasons I thought Babbler's Anon might be helpful, a place for general gabbing and non-Babble interests...

I'm another regular Babbler who just "lurks", although I have joined the chat once or twice. I really enjoy the Babble-related discussions, but do find the log getting bogged down with non-Babble related chatter. Especially distressing since my "Hide Log" button doesn't work, so the whole page gets refreshed every time I enter a word - takes ages!!! (Dr. God, are you there?)

Hazz, If some other function is temporarily hogging the RAM, FF tends to time out after about 30 secs...no connextion. IE tends to be a little more patient. Could just be my setting mind you... lol

Decided not to play today, not sure if i iwll be playing much anymore. I am glad the topic of the log has come up - I think it is GREAT that Babble has expanded so much in the past few months, but wading through all the non-Babble related chat has really detracted from my enjoyment of the game. I hope the community here keeps talking about it until a good solution is found.

Meanwhile, I've been absent all week because I've been reading Word Freak, a boo about competition Scrabble, and I highly recommend it. Learning lots of new words, though I still haven't learned why I have a collection of Scrabble tiles that include K with 5 points and K with 8.
