yeah I know that, but that was not it, according to him. He said once you are in a truly deep sleep, the muscles are more or less paralysed (or you would act out your dreams, lol). But with apnoea, the body starts to have this big need of oxygen when you do not breathe, and in order to honor that need, it tenses up muscles to get you to wake up enough. Your body and brain simply will not allow you to go into deep sleep, because it would kill you.
