12:17 am
jeanne314
I noticed that too. Our brains must be hardwired for it now. Sorry for your illness. We just got our boosters this week. As far as I know, neither hubby nor I have ever had Covid, but who knows anymore. Get well soonest!

Its nothing more than a head cold for me. I have been having six monthly boosters as have low immunity

Glad you're taking the precautions. With low immunity, that is certainly a must.

Things are different where I live. My immunity levels are so low that some can't even be measured. I never took the vaccine nor the boosters and I have never had Covid.
12:26 am
Gillie
Well, I know they've got Covid in Windsor, so maybe you never go out?
12:26 am
grannyrose
this mutation must be pretty virulent. lost my appetite, sense of smell gone, and today was the first time i had the enrgy to have a shower AND enjoy it.
12:27 am
lynxxx
mine is really just a head cold - that is all
12:27 am
grannyrose
please be very careful of you, Rain. i sincerely hope you don't get this mutation. it is vile.
12:28 am
grannyrose
lucky you, lynn. when i had RSV earlier this year it was like that. i did do a RAT, and it was negative for CV then.
12:31 am
Rainiqui
Of course I go out Gillie but there are more than a few people here who opted out as well. Almost all the few people I know who have been vaccinated and boosted did get Covid, some of them multiple times.
12:32 am
Gillie
Statistically, almost everyone has had Covid now whether they've been vaccinated or not
12:32 am
Gillie
Just as almost everyone has had the flu, ditto
12:33 am
Gillie
And Covid is still killing a lot more people than the flu
12:33 am
Gillie
the main point of the vaccines is to reduce the severity of it
12:37 am
grannyrose
ditto here Rain. People make up their own minds, and have the right to do so. Of course what Gille also holds some truth in it. the severity of this cv isn't anything like the original, and the impact is not as much as it could have been.
12:40 am
Rainiqui
Gillie, I am a retired clinical scientist - pathology. My specialty was virology and immunohematology. I not only read all the studies but understood them as well. hence my decision to opt out. I haven't had the flu or even a cold for at least 5 years. My immunologist and hematologist are really impressed considering how low my immunoglobulins are.
12:49 am
Rainiqui
Yikes - The officials, who oversee low-lying towns including Steinhatchee and Perry, posted on Facebook Thursday afternoon to ask all residents who chose not to evacuate to grab a permanent marker and write their name and date of birth on their leg so that they canbe identified if necessary.

MD here, I have had 7 or 8 CoV vaccines so far, the last 2-3 have been Novavax which is more effective. But NO current CoV vax prevents infection yet. Severe illness is prevented.
8:23 am

#1 mitigation = wearing a N95 or better respirator. The virus is airborne. We need clean air.

scrabbler, i see "NO current CoV vax prevents infection yet. Severe illness is prevented" and understand, but, i was curious as to the 'reason' rain. saw in studies, that it wasn't worth taking ... i've had all shots ... and only got covid when i missed a booster .. a office mate of mine died april 2020 ... so i knew it wasn't a political stunt

8:49 am
Scrabbler
CoV infection, and especially repeated infections, is devastating. The acute infection is often "mild" but the virus is thromboembolic and neurotropic and the post-acute period is the real concern. Strokes, MIs, clots, brain damage, autoimmune disorders...
8:50 am
car.eeyore
