Just getting started, and exhausted. 2 loads of laundry, 8 jars of homemade butternut squash soup, 2 cups of homemade almond-coconut creamer, vacuuming, set up next month's bills, and create individual boxes for different people to hold things they get after I'm gone. OKAY, when I see it in type I think, no wonder I'm tired! LOL!

oh you know, as we get older. If I have stuff sorted before I go, then it will be much easier on my husband and daughter. It's like making arrangements in advance. We already have our Wills done, advance medical directives, etc. I'm 69 now, and the average age in my family for death is 55, so I'm in bonus time! I like to be prepared. :)

so, my mom had a stroke in Jan '23 and I took over stuff. apparently her part D somehow lapsed in Oct. '22 and we have been paying her $ since for meds. The nursing home told me they could help sign her up for part D, which they did, but now she is being penalized for not having it since Oct. 22.

GRRR... I feel your frustration. I'm lucky enough to still be on my younger husband's insurance, but I had to file with Medicare so they would not penalize me.

Did you try asking Medicare what the records show as to why her Part D was cancelled? I thought it was taken out automatically. Oh, of course, they have to see the POA first. I'd send it with tracking or certified or something like that. I'm sorry you are having to deal with all this.
