Just for fun, what is one of your favorite Halloween memories? There was a "rich house" in our neighborhood that invited you in for homemade doughnuts and hot chocolate.

I lived in a small circular neighborhood with lots of kids, so just going trick-or-treating with my neighbor across the street, then going back to one of our houses and dumping everything out to trade what we didn't like.

I had to stop trick or treating when I was 8. I got told I was too old to trick or treat. I was talll for my age. I was crushed. I haven't worn a costume since. My sister would trick or treat for me after that. She was older, but much shorter.

I went to Catholic school and we had the day after Halloween off because it is All Souls Day, a holy day of obligation. Now they make the poor kids go to school and make sure they get to Mass during the school day.
