Okay, I posted the block and in the background are scraps I'm going to use. I did find a pattern for this block which surprised me! Thought I would make another block and put the points of the hearts together. Then add borders to make it fit a small chest she has in her room that displays her family pictures. I also thought about putting a checkerboard between the two blocks.

check surge fabrics, they had the small round elastic like on some disposable masks. I got some and like it better than the flat. I think it's more comfortable and forgiving on bigger heads too.
