the other difference from flu is the "novel" virus part. even though the flu mutates rapidly, it's been a human virus for generations, and the basics of how to fight it are in our collective immune system "library" so to speak, even more so if you get your annual flu shot. COVID is an animal virus that mutated to jump from human to human, so our bodies are much less prepared for it, and it nails us right in a fragile part of a critical lung process

Iam plodding along as usual thanks. Dad is still the same so stable. Mother was taken to hospital a little while a go and spent four days there. Her stomach was really bad and she could not keep anything down. It turned out that she had an imbalance of C-Diff and so was harmful to her. They treated her for that so she is just battling with the usual diverticulitis.

latest scans and x-rays show osteoarthritis and osteporosis from C2 to S1. new "natural" pain med seems to be helping. it stops the pain messages from being transmitted along the cox1 AND cox2 pathways. even now, pain 7/10, sitting here typing. but....i do not have covid-19. i am grateful.

I live in a small inner ring burb near CLeveland. The mayor just announced an initiative for everyone who can to step out of our houses at 6:3- each evening starting tomorrow (rain tonite) to greet neighbors, ride bikes see who needs what and just see some friendly faces from a safe distance.

I live alone and the social distancing is challenging. I do take walks and got on my bike yesterday, but I crave eye contact (I already know hugs are out of the question).

Thank goodness I have what I need at home. My synagogue has started a phone calling chain, too. I am both a caller and a recipient of calls. Who knows we may emerge to a kinder society.
