Here's the story: I am on opioids, and periodically, I am tested to make sure I am taking them. They switched to a test that used a strip of cotton on a stick that you suck on until it is saturated. Wel, I had dry mouth at the time. The test came back negative, which I only found out on my visit two months later, where the doc sternly warned me I needed to find a new physician, as he suspected I was diverting my meds.

i have realised that my brain no longer registers the lower levels of pain, i just sweat or feel really hot. the information sites say FM sufferers have a low pain tolerance. i think it's the other way around.

Well, I blew up, and was quite articulate in the heat of the moment. "How DARE you toss aside five years of your own clinical experience with me over a test that just might have been wrong?!" I demanded a urine test, which of course came back positive. He's been most solicitious since. In his defense, pain docs practice with the DEA on their necks; it's as if there's a third person in the exam room.

I was to have had a hip replacement this summer, canceled it when I felt suddenly better, and in light of my son's mental health needs, which had become more critical. Now the pain is back. I need to call hip doc for a cortisone shot, and plan possibly for surgery next summer (I teach, so summer it is).

My son has turned the corner in addressing his issues. I call him "triple diagnosis"_ learning disability/communication disorder/mental health dx (still being worked up)/addiction. My surgeon is very respectful of my decisions. While me knees show some OA, I find the knee pain to be referred from the hip. At least in my case.

Onetime kid bought a 40 oz malt liquor, the cheapest, nastiest way to get drunk. His dad saw him head up to his room with the bottle and just shrugged it off, sayin, "well, I guess I can't stop you>" Hell, yes, you can and should have! That's why I call him the feckless ex.

she was too tender hearted to properly train him when he was a pup and she had the size advantage. I trained him with a couple of commands for my convenience, but he was supposed to be her dog. Pardon me means you are in the way, move, wait means don't run into traffic, ok means you can cross the street now, and kill means make a fierce show of growling and straining at the leash. Also trained him not to bull past people on the stairs, wait until stairs clear.
