Had a lovely morning, pretending to be a Grandma. A neighbour's patio flooded into the family room, and they needed to do a clean-up. They called to ask if I'd babysit (such a tough decision on my part), and brought the baby to me. The upside - damage not as bad as first thought; the downside - baby slept the whole time ... no playing peekaboo.

Yes, poor me; but I volunteered to babysit anytime they wanted a night out. I've known the baby's mother since she was the same age. Babysitters get about $15 per hour, so going to dinner and a movie plus babysitting fees can run to $100 or more.

we use the dead sox for cleaning rags,then after that for shop rags,they never make it to the land fill for a long,long time

We have a great recycle centre just down the road so much better than where I was before. I put very little into the my rubbish bin, most gets recycled.

i once used to reuse pop cans,id cut them open,and make flat rectangle pieces,then use them with a pop rivet gun for bodywork repairs on my old junker cars

That's probably the difference, FM, if you're used to it, you take it for granted. Incidentally, there's a programme on soon about boarding schools - it follows 8 year old girls as they're sent off for the first time.
